Growing up in the Northern Suburbs of Sydney I was inspired by a mother who cherished the Arts. After having 5 children, I often found her in the Attic studio hiding behind a canvas until she realised it was me, the quiet, creative youngest daughter.

In the late 80’s I studied Art at Hornsby TAFE & was tutored in painting by the late Valerie Olsen. After the completion of my first large canvas painting, this beautiful softly spoken woman exclaimed “That’s lovely, you could hang it in the bathroom!” She always had a nice word to say, even if your painting was hideous.

In the 90’s I continued at the TAFE to study Calligrahic Design.

Over the years of raising my children I worked in many different fields including a pizza cook & even a clown.

In 2006, encouraged by my father I began to paint again.

Joining a website called ‘Put Some Colour in your life’ which was created by the late Australian Artist Graeme Stevenson OAM to promote Aussie Art around the world, I posted up images of my work. Within a couple of months Graeme contacted me & asked if I would join the ‘Colour in your life’ team at the 2012 Sydney Art Expo. This was the first time I had ever exhibited my work in public….I was so excited that I didn’t sleep all weekend.

Graeme finally convinced me to go on his TV show in 2016. I appeared in season 13 episode 4 of ‘Put some colour in your life’.

Over the years I have exhibited with the Ku-ring-gai Art Society, Hornsby Art Society & combined Art Societies.

I now run a beautiful little gallery, art workshop & gift shop in Toallo St, Pambula NSW where I teach both adults & children in weekly art classes, workshops as well as wine & art evenings.

At ‘Vikki J Designs’, we sell my original artwork, a variety of products made from the artwork including greeting cards, prints, swimwear, footwear, sculptures made from recycling and other handmade crafts

Combining a love of travel & photography, the majority of my Artwork is inspired by the images I am lucky enough to capture as well as those created from a vivid imagination.

My aim is to create beauty, inspire others to achieve their dreams & meet many more wonderful friends along my life’s journey

Vikki Jackson creates mixed media artwork primarily focused on Australian wildlife and landscapes. Her artistic style is characterized by:

1. Stylized wildlife works, particularly birds, with a focus on small details and field identification marks
2. Use of various mediums including acrylic, pencil, charcoal, pastel, ink, collage, tissue paper, sand, string, eggshell, and paper bark
3. Layering techniques to create vibrant, textured, and intricate pieces
4. Inspiration from Impressionists and Surrealists, using dots and exaggerated colors
5. Incorporation of stylized orbs for added visual interest

Jackson’s artwork often stems from her love of travel and photography, as well as her vivid imagination

She aims to interpret Australia’s flora and fauna in her individual style, combining her background in biology with her artistic skills
